In the last quarter, Euravia has also invested heavily in additional new balancing equipment and special tooling and; completed the modernisation of its Accessories Department. The aim is to further improve productivity, expand capabilities and increase throughput capacity.

Dennis Mendoros, Euravia’s Managing Director, is extremely enthusiastic about these developments, stating: “This will result in even better value for money for Euravia’s customers. Our aim is to be the most cost effective provider of quality PT6A MRO services in the market and our growing customer base is testimony that we are on the right path”.

Euravia’s strategic growth plan calls for measured annual growth year on year through the delivery of exceptional quality and focused customer service, which includes further expansion of their MRO capabilities, facilities and skill base in the coming years.

Information Technology In Action

The past quarter has seen the further expansion and development of Euravia’s internal management information system – Empire 2005. Recent enhancements mean that Euravia now has a fully computerised Engine and Accessories inspection system, providing real time information, traceability, configuration control and electronic documentation, which further enhances Euravia’s quality and management systems.

Euravia Continues to Lead the Way in MRO Quality

Euravia has further enhanced its leadership role in the MRO industry by becoming one of the first UK aerospace organisations to receive EASA Part-145 Approval from the UK CAA. EASA is an agency of the European Union (EU), brought into being by Regulation (EC) No 1592/2002 of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. The objectives of the regulation is to establish and maintain a high uniform level of civil aviation safety in Europe; to facilitate the free movement of goods, persons and services; and to assist Member States in fulfilling their obligations under the Chicago Convention. For further information see the EASA website at: http://www.caa.co.uk/srg/easa/. Euravia has also successfully renewed its FAR Part 145 Approval and is also now fully compliant with the "New Part 145 Repair Station Rule". Euravia also holds ISO 9001:2000 and AS/EN 9100:2001 quality accreditations, which are further indications of our commitment to delivering total quality to our customers.

PT6A Business Continues to Expand

Euravia has surpassed its 2002 targets for PT6A engine inductions and is forecasting strong growth for 2003. Steve Clarkson, Head of Customer Support Services said: "We would like to thank all the PT6A operators, who have chosen to use Euravia's services in 2002 and also those who have given us the opportunity to quote for the first time. We are committed to offer the best value PT6A maintenance services in the business and we are confident that our customer base will continue to grow in 2003 and beyond".

Euravia Staff Expansion

As a result of continuing business growth, Euravia has increased its staff levels within both its Production and Customer Support Administration Teams. Dennis Mendoros, Managing Director says: "This is a very positive sign at a time when many other aerospace organisations are cutting back on personnel. Our current order board and future projections confirm continuing business growth, which is positive for Euravia, its staff and the local economy". Euravia is also reorganising its production shop lay out to accommodate new APU, engine and accessory lines.

Empire 2003™ Development

Euravia has launched a new project to enhance its in-house MRO software, Empire™ with the aim of further reducing administration costs and engine maintenance turn times. It is anticipated that the new Empire 2003™ will be on-line by the third quarter of 2003.

New Test Cell Capabilities

Euravia has modified its universal test cell in order to accept Artouste Mk 121 and 123 APU's. The conclusion of this exercise culminated with the design authority cross-correlation certificate. A similar integration exercise was also previously successfully performed for the Rover Mk10501 APU, culminating in the successful cross correlation in June 2002 and further in-house modifications are under way to adapt the test cell for the Harrier Air Starter Mk2 and Mk4, confirming the flexibility of the testing services at Euravia.

Delta II™ Milestone

Developed by Euravia, DELTA (Design Engineering & Logistical Technical Analysis) is an Integrated and Interactive tool covering technical documentation, configuration control data, reliability statistics, repair instructions, design specifications, stock data & costing information and can be configured for any engine, component or airframe. Euravia has just completed a major project for the validation and integration of new and updated repair documentation into the Pegasus Engine Database. This was an intensive update covering more than 4,000 individual documents, over 40,000 component details and 10,000 scanned images and was completed within 2 months. Euravia's IT expert, David Turner said: "DELTA is a low cost, efficient and reliable engineering tool that provides technical and cost analysis capability from a single CD-ROM, compatible with any PC". Further information is available from Euravia upon request.

Introduction of Empire 2™ Management Information System

Euravia has launched an improved version of its internal management information system to further enhance its Customer Support Services. The system is used for inventory management, forecasting, production scheduling, training records, quality control and financial control.

New Capability for MRO of Hydraulic Pumps and Accessories

Euravia has introduced new hydraulic pump and accessory capabilities to support four aircraft systems for a major defence contractor. Euravia's capabilities include a dedicated test rig, which can accommodate alternative hydraulic fluids and provide accurate vibration and temperature readings during test. Dennis Mendoros OBE said "This is another good example of Euravia's commitment to increasing our service portfolio for our customers. We will continue to seek new partners and new product lines to further expand our capabilities".

New Test Cell Capability on-line for Artouste and Rover APU's

Euravia has extended its test capabilities with the introduction of Artouste and Rover APU, in support of three new on-going APU contracts. The new test capabilities utilise the existing computerised, data acquisition facilities of the Euravia test cell, together with mobile, quick disconnect test stands, which minimise test cell occupancy and turn time. The test cell is cross-correlated with the OEM master test bed. The new capabilities also extend to supplementary engineering and post design service support.
