Improved availability and reduced cost of ownership in respect of the Garrett GTCP165-1A APU for use on the Sentry E-3D Aircraft has been guaranteed under a multi-million pound contract between the MoD and Euravia Engineering & Supply Co Ltd. The contract awarded by the Sentry Integrated Project Team will provide support for the APU until the Sentry aircraft out of service date of 2025 and will deliver ownership costs up to 45% lower than those experienced under past ‘traditional’ repair contracts.

As prime contractor, Euravia will work closely with the MoD, the Royal Air Force and the IPT’s Sentry Whole Life Support Programme partner Northrop Grumman Information Technology International Inc to offer better value for money coupled with enhanced APU airworthiness and reliability. The contract will transform business processes and performance for effective Whole Life capability management and provide long-term engineering support to maintain operational readiness and increased availability.

The contract is an important contribution to the Defence Industrial Strategy where the MoD are working more closely with industry to ensure the future sustainment of its vital military requirements.
