Rolls Royce C20B Modular Turboshaft/Turboprop engine
This Alison model 250 engine was first developed for the US Army for Light Helicopter and light observation aircraft use. Since Rolls Royce took over the manufacture of these engines, they have become known as the RR250, or M250. The engine uses a reverse-airflow configuration where the airflow turns 180 degrees once leaving the compressor and entering the combustion chamber. This saves on space and weight. The C20B has a power output of 420 shaft horsepower at take-off.
